Why not just warm up the water in a teakettle, add your coffee and mix it up? Does the coffee machine make a difference in the taste? What’s the big deal about coffee machines?
My parents never owned one and neither have I so I’m just curious.
yes I grew up having instant coffee, my parents never bought the coffee bean kind…
If you like the instant coffee its way more convenient but the taste doesn’t compare to brewed fresh coffee.

well just coffee and hot water sounds gross, unless it’s like instant coffee or something. The taste is different like how brown coffee tastes different from white coffee beans.

I loved the timer on ours. When the alarm clock went off to wake to the smell of coffee was great. Just wander to the kitchen and pour. Don’t use it now that we are retired and don’t have to set the alarm any more.

You have a good point !
I like the French Press for that purpose, add the coffee fill with hot water insert the plunger wait a bit push down and serve .

The other coffee make are the same idea just that the filtration is automatic, the water goes on top of the coffee grounds and drips into the carafe, the other methods would be the Espresso Maker in those the water needs to boil and go up into the coffee grounds . The difference in taste is all about the types of coffee that are used some are dark roast and some are light , giving the coffee a stronger or more mellow taste, the idea of filtration is the same some are manuals and some are by pressure and others buy drip.
edit
I needed to add that instant coffee is good but I rather have the one from the French Press .
