The Maximus French press has a great shut-off brewing and filtering system that makes fresh tasting coffee every time. The electric frother is wonderful for foaming milk, but equally good for making whipped cream or scrambled eggs. The teapot also has a special shut-off brewing system that prevents tea from becoming too strong or bitter. Interview at the 2009 International Home and Housewares Show by Georgia Downard.

Electric Vaccum Coffee Pot Brewing

STEP 1: Water filled to 6 cups line.

STEP 2: Place upper chamber on top.

STEP 3: Add 5 scoops of coffee beans, freshly ground, put the lid on, and press start.

Step 4: Wait a few minutes. Pre-warm your mugs, setup coffee recycle bag, etc…

STEP 5: After bubbling stops, remove the lid, pull off the upper chamber & place upside down in coffee recycle bag!

STEP 6: Pour fresh coffee into mug & enjoy the greatest coffee brewing method!

Pedal-powered kettle

11 people on bike generators pedalling to boil 1 cup of water with a 1kW kettle.
Circuit includes 58F ultra-capacitor to smooth voltage and 1kW inverter with low-voltage warning which is audible throughout most of test.
Filmed by Paul Jenkins who also had to pedal because we were short of cyclists.
