The usual conception of depression is the feeling of being down or sad once in a while, actually not once in awhile but once in a blue moon. The feelings of deepened sorrow, sadness and the feeling of being alone and insecure about death. This usually is the broad definition of depression, but thats very untrue. Depression is a total depressive feeling which stays with you for long periods of time. Scientist define depression as several inconstant chemical reactions building up in your body.

Most people whom think scientifically say that its perfectly normal to have the lonely feeling once in awhile since it usually gets out of your system at one point, but some argue that the usual symptoms of depression can lead to marriage divorces or worse, death! Some also say that this emotion is really needed to balance life.

We must admit that this feeling has been going on already for even centuries now. Even Stone Age people have the feeling of getting overly emotional. Some say that the usual causes of depression vary, the usual fatigueness of ones body + bad eating habits (or even starvation) + a lot of lack of sleep and losing pleasure in activities can lead to depression. Tendencies are, people being depressed cannot concentrate compared to those without depression. Psychologists also say that it is not easy to tell if someone is on their way to the road of depression just by analyzing their day to day activities. It may take months to filter extreme and severe cases of depression from the mild ones.

In todays modern world, more and more people come to a point of getting prone to depression due to the kind of lifestyles we have adopted. Most adults suffer from work related stress or household problems and then there comes the problems with marriage. For teenagers, there comes the peer pressures and the SATs or College Exams, their Achievement Exams, their family problems and of course sometimes their insecurities with themselves. These have been regular to most people due to the fact that they have been used to living these problems on a day to day basis. But to a small percentage of the total population of people, this causes them more problems till they lead to getting severely depressed.

The usual medical treatment for depression actually varies. Some people are prescribed for anti-depressant medicines which have dreadful side effects, I know because Ive been there and done that. These medications caused me several digestive disturbances, for instance at one time, I had non-stop diarrehea then the next week I was constipated. Just imagine how much depression can lead you in to. I was also jobless for more than a month due to the fact that the doctors wanted me to be resting.

My personal perspective to curing depression is quite different. Let me share you a short experience.
