On Sept. 26, 2009 a reunion of some of the Winnipeg bands from the 60’s era was held at the Convention Centre in Winnipeg. The event was arranged by Super Oldies.com and CFRW. The reunion bands included The Shondels, Love Cyrcle, Electric Jug & Blues Band, The Fifth, The Pallbearers, The Gettysbyrg Address, Satan and the D-Men and Justin Tyme. Guest Host was Bob Burns who was heavily involved in the music scene at the time through managing and producing some of the bands, and hosting tv shows… in an effort to further expand the presence of some of these energetic talents. Frank Wiener was also instrumental through Hungry I Agency. The British Invasion had just kicked into the city and bands were greatly influenced. They either added the new sounds to their line up, or created their own. Some of these bands took to the stage at the Convention Centre and provided a trip down memory lane for the 900 people in attendance. The video features these bands. Thanks LadyBuglll. I am glad you enjoyed the collage that made up the video. It was a great night! Actually the opening is by The Fifth and the next part is with the Gettysbyrg Address. Both performed in Winnipeg that night.

Hey Slim..too bad you couldn’t make it. It was an excellent evening. The bands were in good form, and so was Bob Burns! Let’s hope another venue like this takes place soon and that some of more of the prominent performers of the time will be on stage, too!
