The easiest way is to look at the sides/back of such items where there normally is a rating plate. E.g. a jug kettle may be 3kw
Small items such as a calculator may be solar powered and use minute amounts of power.
Ipod – depends on the model and mode, will use more/shorter battery life for video than audio.

iPod = <1W when running, typically
Hairdryer = <0.5kw, has heating element but wild guess
Calculator = <1W
Computer (desktop) = up to about 1.2kW , Laptop maybe coupla hundred Watts.
Heater ~= 1-2kW
Toaster ~= kw Range
Electric Jug ?? you mean kettle?
Vacuum prob < 1kW

Look at the NEC tables for design loads for these items, if yu can’t read the name plate data.
