Zojirushi CD-JSC22 Hot-Water Dispensing Pot 2.2L

This is my new Zojirushi hot water dispensing pot. I love it! I’ve wanted one of these for ages. There was a larger size, but this smaller, 2.2 liter pot is just right for me. I put this 6-ounce teacup here for a size comparison. I know you can’t see how hot the water is, but it is hot! It has already boiled, and gone down a bit to settle at 208F. It will stay this way, 24/7, unless I change the temperature option or bring it to the boil again.

Well, it’s worth it for me, because I go to that pot for tea or coffee throughout the day. If you make a hot drink a couple of times a day, I think this model is probably too big.

What about the “Reboil” button? They say it brings the temp to 212*F… Does it help to brew a stronger black tea?

Well, I think it depends on how often you drink tea and what kind of tea. Keep in mind this pot keeps the water at a steady temperature of 208 degrees F, great for green tea, but not hot enough for a perfect cup of a black tea. I mean, I make black tea with this all the time, but it’s not as good as when the water is at a boil. So it depends on how picky you are. I drink tea all day long, and also make cups of dashi broths, so this is good for me. I do wish it was hotter, of course:-)

Is it really worth it? I’ve been thinking about buying one for making tea… But I’ve always just warmed my water through a coffee maker without coffee.
