this is my teakettle from ikea. it looks fantastic, but sounds like a fire alarm.

It has a removable whistle, which came apart. I reassembled it and now it no longer whistles. Its interior has only a metal plate and a screw – did I loose a part?
Remove Whistle from Kettle
Fill the kettle with clean water
Replace Whistle
Place Kettle on Hob
Turn on heat to full
Stand back an wait
Once whistle screams turn off heat
Remove whistle
Pour BOILING water into appropriate container
