How To Stop Panic Attacks And Obsessive Thoughts

Posted by admin on August 10th, 2010 and filed under Self Help | No Comments »

Obsessive thoughts are the real cause of almost all your anxiety. Every single time you’ve had severe anxiety it started with an obsessive thought, and it spiralled out of control and eventually became the severe anxiety you felt or the panic attack you had.

If you think this isn’t how it works with you and that your obsessive thoughts AREN’T the cause of your anxiety, start paying attention to how and what you’re thinking before your anxiety increases.

Most people are staggered at the results when they study themselves in this way, and I think there’s a good chance you will be as well. And there’s a good reason why I can predict this kind of outcome: because for many years (almost 20, in fact) I lived with exactly the same problems you’re living with right now.

Unfortunately, when you have an anxiety disorder, it’s impossible to drop a thought automatically like most other people can. So the solution to this problem is finding ways to consciously drop a thought before it becomes harmful – before it becomes OBSESSIVE.

I have a 3 step plan you can start using right now to prevent all your obsessive thoughts:

Step One is to retrain your brain, ASAP. You need to get it to a place where it can spot a negative or potentially damaging thought the moment that it begins. This includes thoughts that start out very small and seem to be no problem at all. These small thoughts can grow into big ones that cause serious problems, so these need to be treated just as the obviously terrible thoughts are treated.

Second Step: You need to become exactly like people with no anxiety problems. For them, it’s simple to stop a bad thought anytime they want to. For you, it takes a little more work. The only way to stop one thought is by having another thought, so to stop the damaging thoughts you simply need to have a new thought that takes its place. You might be wondering what you should be thinking. The answer is simple: think of anything it takes to stop that original and damaging thought.

Third Step: Your damaging thoughts usually begin when your mind is left to wander, or to daydream. This is how thinking these bad thoughts becomes a habit. By thinking these thoughts too often they start to happen on their own, and they creep up on you and do their damage. To end this problem, there’s only 1 answer: creating a new default frame of mind, one that’s calm, positive, and pleasant. You do this by thinking good, positive thoughts as often as you can, so that this becomes the type of thinking your brain does automatically when you aren’t paying attention.

Use these 3 steps to quickly put a stop to your obsessive thoughts and your panic attacks.

Your FOREX Trading Philosophy

Posted by admin on August 7th, 2010 and filed under Self Help | No Comments »

“Easy money” is the allure that captivates many beginning FOREX traders. FOREX websites offer “risk-free” trading, “high returns”, “low investment.” These claims have a grain of truth in them, but the reality of FOREX is a bit more complex.

Mistakes Of The Beginning Trader

There are 2 common mistakes that many beginner traders make: trading without a strategy and letting emotions rule their decisions. After opening a FOREX account it may be tempting to dive right in and start trading. Watching the movements of EUR/USD for example, you may feel that you are letting an opportunity pass you by if you don’t enter the market immediately. You buy and watch the market move against you. You panic and sell, only to see the market recover.

This kind of undisciplined approach to FOREX is guaranteed to lose money. FOREX traders must have a rational trading strategy and not make trading decisions in the heat of the moment.

Understanding Market Movements

To make rational trading decisions, the FOREX trader must be well educated in market movements. He must be able to apply technical studies to charts and plot out entry and exit points. He must take advantage of the various types of orders to minimize his risk and maximize his profit.

The first step in becoming a successful FOREX trader is to understand the market and the forces behind it. Who trades FOREX and why? This will allow you to identify successful trading strategies and use them.

Accountability

There are 5 major groups of investors who participate in FOREX: governments, banks, corporations, investment funds, and traders. Each group has its own objectives, but 1 thing all groups except traders have in common is external control. Every organization has rules and guidelines for trading currencies and can be held accountable for their trading decisions. Individual traders, on the other hand, are accountable only to themselves.

Large organizations and educated traders approach the FOREX with strategies, and if you hope to succeed as a FOREX trader you must follow suit.

Money Management

Money management is an integral part of any trading strategy. Besides knowing which currencies to trade and how to recognize entry and exit signals, the successful trader has to manage his resources and integrate money management into his trading plan.

There are various strategies for money management. Many rely on the calculation of core equity — your starting balance minus the money used in open positions.

Core Equity And Limited Risk

When entering a position try to limit your risk to 1% to 3% of each trade. This means that if you are trading a standard FOREX lot of $100,000 you should limit your risk to $1,000 to $3,000. You do this with a stop loss order 100 pips (1 pip = $10) above or below your entry position.

As your core equity rises or falls, adjust the dollar amount of your risk. With a starting balance of $10,000 and 1 open position, your core equity is $9000. If you wish to add a second open position, your core equity would fall to $8000 and you should limit your risk to $900. Risk in a third position should be limited to $800.

Greater Profit, Greater Risk

You should also raise your risk level as your core equity rises. After $5,000 profit, your core equity is now $15,000. You could raise your risk to $1,500 per transaction. Alternatively, you could risk more from the profit than from the original starting balance. Some traders may risk up to 5% against their realized profits ($5,000 on a $100,000 lot) for greater profit potential.

These are the kinds of strategic tactics that allow a beginner to get a foothold on profitable trading in FOREX.

A 3 Step Plan To Stop Obsessive Thoughts And Panic

Posted by admin on August 6th, 2010 and filed under Self Help | No Comments »

Obsessive thoughts are the real cause of almost all your anxiety. Every single time you’ve had severe anxiety it started with an obsessive thought, and it spiralled out of control and eventually became the severe anxiety you felt or the panic attack you had.

Just in case you’re thinking that you’re the exception to this theory, let me encourage you to give this theory a chance by beginning to pay close attention to exactly what’s on your mind in the moments before your anxiety gets out of hand.

You’ll be surprised what you discover, because obsessive thoughts are at the heart of anxiety and panic in EVERYONE. I know this from talking and working with literally THOUSANDS of people who are just like you, and who are just like I was when obsessive thoughts were causing my own anxiety for 17 years.

Unfortunately, when you have an anxiety disorder, it’s impossible to drop a thought automatically like most other people can. So the solution to this problem is finding ways to consciously drop a thought before it becomes harmful – before it becomes OBSESSIVE.

I have a 3 step plan you can start using right now to stop all your obsessive thoughts:

Step One is to retrain your thinking, ASAP. You need to get it to a place where it can spot a negative or potentially damaging thought the moment that it starts. This includes thoughts that start out very tiny and seem to be no problem at all. These small thoughts can grow into huge ones that cause serious problems, so these need to be treated just as the obviously terrible thoughts are treated.

The only way to stop one thought is by having another thought, so to stop the damaging thoughts you simply need to have a new thought that takes its place. You might be wondering what you should be thinking. The answer is simple: think of whatever it takes to stop that original and damaging thought.

Step #3: Most harmful thoughts start when you’re daydreaming or when your mind is wandering. And these harmful thoughts are a HABIT. That’s why they happen so easily and sneak up on you, because you’ve trained your mind to slip into a negative autopilot. The only way to undo this is to retrain your mind, and you do that by thinking about nice things as often as you can, even if you have to use fantasies or old memories to do it. Think of it like creating a new default setting for your mind.

Use these 3 steps to quickly put a stop to your obsessive thoughts and your panic attacks.

Horoscopes for Today and Sidereal Astrologers

Posted by admin on August 3rd, 2010 and filed under Self Help | No Comments »

Sidereal astrologers cannot claim to build on ancient knowledge, but have to change the signs and characteristics over time. They are in turn making the whole concept of Astrology invalid. Horoscopes for today means that the real astronomical signs are a few days off from the Sidereal system by now – so not even Sidereal Astrology is using the correct star signs. Sidereal astrology uses the actual constellation in which the sun is located at the moment of birth as its basis; tropical astrology uses a 30-degree sector of the zodiac as its basis. Tropical astrology is the most popular form and it assigns its readings based on the time of the year, while generally ignoring the positions of the sun and constellations relative to each other. Sidereal astrology is used by a minority of astrologers and bases its readings on the constellations near the sun at the time of birth.

According to some astrologers, the data support the hypothesis that there is a connection between heavenly bodies and human events. There are correlations too synchronous to be mere chance between astrological signs and such things as personality, emotions and human destiny.

How To Cure Panic Attacks While You Sleep

Posted by admin on August 2nd, 2010 and filed under Self Help | No Comments »

When you want to cure panic attacks, one of the best things you can do is improve the quality of sleep you’re having, and here are 3 good ways to achieve that.

The first method to have better sleep is to stop all negative thinking while you’re in bed.

You experience much more worrying and anxious thoughts when you’re awake in bed than you do in any other situation. That’s a strange situation to be in when you think that your bedroom should be the place where you are most at peace.

I’d feel confident guessing that worrying in bed bothers you most when you’re trying to fall asleep when you first get into bed, in the middle of the night if you wake up, and first thing in the morning before you get up.

So the key here is to eliminate as much of this “worry in bed” time as possible. The easiest one to solve is the worry in the morning, when you’re awake but you haven’t got up yet. The simple solution here is to get up the moment you wake up!

This is a very simple idea, but it’s amazing how much anxiety this will remove from the start of your day. Getting up before your mind has a chance to remember all the things it could be anxious about will give you a better start to the day than you’ve had in a long time.

As for the times when you wake up during the night and start to worry/panic well, this one’s slightly trickier. But there are things you can do! First of all, if you’re awake longer than a few minutes and you feel your anxiety increasing, get up out of bed. Being in bed in the silence will just make any anxiety you feel seem even worse.

While you’re up, perhaps it would be good to have a shower or a bath – whichever you find more relaxing. Or just spend some time doing something that relaxes you, even if it’s just sitting down in the living room with a hot drink. After your quick relaxation period, go back to bed. By getting up and waiting a while before going back to bed, it’s all much more natural and like the original time you went to bed.

By getting up when you’re awake, and going back to bed in this way after you’ve been doing something for a while, it’s far more like you’re going to bed for the first time. This is much more natural for your body, and you’re going to be able to get back to sleep much quicker than if you’d just remained in bed the entire time.

***Method #2. No More Ever-Changing Schedules***

By sticking to the same routines and times, you’re sleeping will improve, whatever the cause of your sleeping problems.

By simply going to bed at the same time each night and getting up at the same time each morning, your body’s internal clock will get back to normal. Many of your body’s functions, including the releasing of hormones, are affected by your wake/sleep cycle.

I bet you know that feeling that you’re utterly burnt out, right? Well, that is frequently a result of your adrenal glands being out of whack. One of the few ways to correct a problem like this is to get some good sleeping habits sorted out.

Starting from right now, then, begin going to bed each night as close to the same time as possible. And, of course, get up at the same time each morning too. Just don’t throw away all your hard work by sleeping in late on the weekends and losing your hard-earned new routine!

The third method to get better sleep is to avoid all stimulants before you go to bed.

Many of the problems that I had sleeping were because of what I was doing before I actually went to bed each night. I was often watching TV in bed right up until the moment I turned out the light and tried to sleep. This is a very bad idea! The same goes for any loud or heavy music, and even for reading if the subject is heavy or extreme.

What I did, and what I suggest you begin doing too from today onwards, is to stop doing anything stimulating for an hour before your bedtime. Couple this with a brand new routine that you stick to before you retire, full of things that you know will caml you.

Go out of your way to slow everything down for the last 60 minutes before heading off to bed. If you have a favourite bedtime drink, this is the time for it. If it’s hot outside, maybe drink it in the fresh air. If it’s cold outside, curl up and drink it inside. But the bottom line is, relax.

It may sound a bit obvious to give this kind of advice, but how many of us really give ourselves time like this? Even those of us who do don’t do it enough.

If you’re a bath-taker, then whenever you can take one right before you get into bed. Make it warm, but never too hot. A warm bath has been proven in many studies to put the body in just the right state for great quality sleep. So make this slow winding-down hour a new part of your pre-bed routine. It can work unbelievably well when you’re not sleeping.

You should never take your ex boyfriend back because of fear or boredom. A common fear is the fear of being alone and having face life’s difficulties alone. But the fear of being alone isn’t a good enough reason to decide you want to get your ex boyfriend back.
