Wouldn’t some of that plastic leach into the water at high temperatures? Especially seeing the plastic’s being heated up several times a day?
It’s the modern material my dear fella. High temperatures don’t affect it. They must have done lots of R&D with the modern plastics.
high storey house). It looks OK. How do I sterilize it before I use it?
Hot boiling water will also sterilize. But this is just a coffee maker so all you really need to do is just wash it out with Warm soapy water.

On Sept. 26, 2009 a reunion of some of the Winnipeg bands from the 60’s era was held at the Convention Centre in Winnipeg. The event was arranged by Super Oldies.com and CFRW. The reunion bands included The Shondels, Love Cyrcle, Electric Jug & Blues Band, The Fifth, The Pallbearers, The Gettysbyrg Address, Satan and the D-Men and Justin Tyme. Guest Host was Bob Burns who was heavily involved in the music scene at the time through managing and producing some of the bands, and hosting tv shows… in an effort to further expand the presence of some of these energetic talents. Frank Wiener was also instrumental through Hungry I Agency. The British Invasion had just kicked into the city and bands were greatly influenced. They either added the new sounds to their line up, or created their own. Some of these bands took to the stage at the Convention Centre and provided a trip down memory lane for the 900 people in attendance. The video features these bands. This video is meant only to provide enjoyment and reacquaint the viewer in pictures and music of the times. No copying this video (it is mine), and no copyright infringement of any sort is intended. Bicarbonate of sodium won’t sterilize anything. You can use straight vinegar on a rag or paper towel, or slosh it around in the jug to sterilize it. Vinegar kills germs on contact. Drain it and use it. Otherwise, a ten percent solution of chlorine bleach and water will sterilize almost anything. The way to figure the ten percent is to remember that there are 16 tbsp. to a cup. So you add one tbsp. of bleach to a little less than 2/3 of a cup of water. I’ll let you do the math.
Hope this helps.
