A little demo of how the flame of an hho is not just a exothermic chemical reaction, but an electrical reaction as well. Which is why it is so hard to boil water, the released electrons go into the air instead of the stable water molecule. Not in prior vid, I noticed how cool the torch was, imediatly after turning off the torch it goes cool, but during operation it does get warm, this would be the first torch I have had that does this. I had a micropipette torch that always stayed cool. Same with the basketball needle. This could be from the brass tip, or a differecial metal (like a battery) reaction from the AL, brass, and ss wool inside the torch.

Gas – candles – tea/night lights or a blow torch or lamp.
I have heard of portable electric rods that can be submerged into water to boil; however, I can not find one on the internet or any local store. I plan on living in a dorm then coming fall and would like to find something that I can use to boil water other than a microwave.
I found one!!!

I have seen many people boiling drinking water with Immersion rods whereas when I discussed with a doctor, he said that it is not healthy to boil drinking water with electric Immersion rod. Can you know me know about this with sufficient scientific facts.
I don’t Think i ever heard of that I’m sorry.

To cook pasta for example I would always fill my pan with cold water and bring it to the boil on my electric hob. My friend always boils his water in an electric kettle and then transfers it into the pan on the hob for cooking with.
I know his method is quicker – a 3kW electric kettle will boil in a minute or so, whereas on the hob a pan of water takes several minutes. My question is who is using energy most efficiently?
My hob is electric – maybe the answer is different for a gas stove..?
Your friend’s method is quicker because it heats the surrounding air less. (It’s the way I do it.) So it should be more efficient. If you use a gas hob for heating a saucepan of water, a lot of the heat will go straight around it!
11 people on bike generators pedalling to boil 1 cup of water with a 1kW kettle.
Circuit includes 58F ultra-capacitor to smooth voltage and 1kW inverter with low-voltage warning which is audible throughout most of test.
Filmed by Paul Jenkins who also had to pedal because we were short of cyclists.

I just bought a hot pot express and am very thirsty. The college I am at does not provide filtered drinkable tap water. This is my only means for easy access to drinking water. How long should I boil it?
And don’t say buy water bottles, cause I know that already. It’s just I drink sooooo much water, that becomes expensive.
The water is not filtered doesn;t mean it isn;t safe. If you would get sick form the water, than they should be out of business. I am sure you are fine. Boiling will only kill bacteria bit won;t remove any thing from it. Any way to answer your question, the standard is that the water should be at a boil for 30 minutes.
